One Sure Thing (BWE0165 1998)
Cosy Sheridan has established a
growing audience and reputation as
a touring artist. One Sure Thing, her
fourth CD, was recorded live in
Logan and Salt Lake City, Utah, and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Produced by Darleen Wilson, One Sure Thing captures the intimacy and
verve of Sheridan's live performance. Cosy describes her music as "A
spiritual quest with occasional moments of tasteless, comical diversion."
An excellent folk/pop/ragtime guitarist, she is joined on this recording by
Kent Allyn on bass. One Sure Thing includes several new songs, updates
of Sheridan favorites - "Quietly Led" and "Walk Into Heaven," covers of
Jean Ritchie's "One I Love" and TR Ritchie's "Quiet Hands;" and two of
those tasteless comedy songs, "Mustang Ranch" and "The True and
Terrible Trials of Waldo the Dog," concerning canine castration: "... and
his holy heat-seeking device He's a boardgame now without the dice If
only he could have have realized The joys of being vasectomized..."
