NakedNakedThis 1994 release, Alice's 5 th album is a mixture of live recordings from the studio and concerts that captures the essence of Alice live. Her sense here was to give the listener a feeling of being one on one with Alice in person. Naked is a totally acoustic effort, with two a cappella songs, and two songs done with jazz great, guitarist Mimi Fox. Alice explores a variety of musical styles from a bluesy version of Richard M. Jones's Trouble in Mind to a bluegrass type effort in Out of control, to jazzily folksy cuts like Bring Back the Rain and If I could move the world. The last cut an a cappella song and the title of the album Naked is a spiritual call to look at our own nakedness, and it reflects the theme of the album, a sort of Alice Unplugged. Naked is a good starting point to sample the varied styles and wide vocal range of Alice DiMicele. "Acoustic music doesn't get any better than this" --highly recommended-- Ladyslipper.
