Daddy's Coal Daddy's Coal BETTY ELDERS Daddy's Coal Recorded in Texas in 1989. This album showcases the open hearted songwriting and evocative singing of Betty Elders. The nine songs are sparse, acoustic-based, folk/country compositions, though "Welcome Home Heart" sports a jazzy swing. Elders's acoustic guitar playing forms the instrumental core of the bulk of the material, with other instruments--notably fiddle, acoustic bass, mandolin, and dobro--tastefully integrated to add color and texture without detracting from the vocals.
