Suzanne McDermott

The Roswell Incident

PRESS _RELEASE

Rosema Red Records-released Suzanne McDermott's limited edition EP/CD "The Roswell Incident" at the beginning of June, 1997. The 4-song, hand signed EP was released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Roswell Incident.

The lyrics to the song The Roswell Incident are taken almost entirely verbatim (though somewhat rearranged) from eyewitness accounts of the 1947 event. The story is told through the eyes of 12-year old Bessie Brazel, daughter of Mac Brazel. W. W. "Mac" Brazel owned the ranch where the unusual debris was found.

Suzanne McDermott has been invited by the City of Roswell to perform the song in Roswell on July 4th for the 50th anniversary celebration banquet. The banquet will be held in the hanger where the debris was originally stored by the military.

The second song on the EP, "Golden Needles", was written after Suzanne read about a 300-year old spruce tree, sacred to the Haida Indians, that was cut down by a vandal last January.

The song, The Roswell Incident will be used by NPR's Morning Edition in their report on the 50th Anniversary of the incident. The song will also be featured on PRI's World Cafe.

The Roswell Incident CD will be available only in Roswell during the 50th anniversary celebration, at HEAR Music stores and by mailorder. For mail order information, please call 1-800-600-7679 x1249.
